Open shelving

Source – Houzz Staged design photos are one thing, but living in a kitchen with open shelving is another. We’ve had open shelves for over a year and while we couldn’t totally do away with cabinets (where else do you hide the condiments) we are introducing more open shelving into our kitchen design.

Home, home on the range

As I posted earlier we hit the shops hard this weekend. We bought 10 light fittings, a lampshade for my thrift shop find and paint samples. We’ve also bought tiles for the kitchen, the wall tiles for the bathroom and black and white floor tiles. It is hard to press the ‘purchase’ button at times.…

Decision tree

We are at the stage where we are suffering decision burnout. Thirteen rooms/spaces and two halls later we’ve had to work out how we’ll go through the house, turning on/off switches, using plug sockets and so on for the electrics. Kitchen be-gone!

Our renovation experts have been busy demolishing, tearing down and stripping out the fixtures in the house. The kitchen and the tiles have all been removed. All the speckled dots are what is left of the tile adhesive. Quite some change from here: I am not sad to see the back of the the laminate…
